Design for education project, we were instructed to design a learning game for a chosen grade level, I chose Kindergarten. Decided to create a game based on shape recognition and creating new shapes from putting together known shapes. Playing with building blocks as a child myself, I decided to go with a building block direction. All site assets were created in Illustrator, hard coded for functionally in ActionScript 3.0. Obstacles I face in the beginning were conflicts with public and private class functions and choosing which aspects of the game play should be on a timeline or hard coded. After several prototypes trials, I was able to simplify the class/function relationship using one public function and coding game functions to every detail of the games play rules.
